Making a test call

You can make outbound calls directly from the dashboard to test your agent and phone number setup.

Open phone number details

Navigate to Phone Numbers and click on the number you want to call from.

Click Make Call

Click the Make Call button.

Enter the recipient number

Type the phone number you want to call (including country code).

Select an agent

Choose which agent should handle the call. This defaults to the outbound agent assigned to the phone number.

Start the call

Click Call to initiate the outbound call. Your agent will call the recipient and begin the conversation using its configured instructions and voice.

What happens during the call

  1. Sonara dials the recipient from your provisioned phone number
  2. When the recipient picks up, the agent starts the conversation
  3. If configured, the welcome message plays first
  4. The agent follows its instructions, uses tools, and retrieves knowledge base context as needed
  5. After the call ends, it appears in your Conversations section with a full transcript
Test calls are a great way to verify your agent’s behavior before launching a batch campaign or going live with inbound calls.
